Don’t miss Marsden Hartley: American Modern at the Naples Museum of Art in Naples, Florida. This show ends January 11, 2008. 217 Films documentary Visible Silence: Marsden Hartley, Painter and Poet has been included as part of the exhibit to give patrons a multi-media experience of Hartley’s life and work.

Because painter and poet Marsden Hartley was so varied in content, he has been difficult to place in American art. But Naples has a chance to view many of his excellent post-impressionist and abstract works in the exhibition, “Marsden Hartley: American Modern,” at the Jay and Patty Baker Naples Museum of Art through Jan. 11….this exhibition is enriched by “Visible Silence: Marsden Hartley, Painter and Poet,” a DVD movie that Hartley enthusiast Michael Maglaras directed and narrated on-camera.
