The documentary “John Marin: Let the Paint Be Paint!” premieres Friday.

Tickets are available for the Friday premiere of 217 Films’ new documentary about American master John Marin at the Portland Museum of Art. Tickets for “John Marin: Let the Paint Be Paint!” cost $7 and can be purchased at the museum’s Web site, www.portlandmuseum.org.

The museum anticipates the Friday screening will sell out, and recommends people buy their tickets in advance.

The movie begins at 6:30 p.m. Friday, followed by an encore screening at 2 p.m. Saturday.

“John Marin: Let the Paint be Paint!” tells the story of one of the most important American artistic figures of the first half of the 20th century, considered by many to be the father of American Modernism. Follow this link to read the full article.
